Fabric requirements

Choose a lightweight, fluid fabric that drapes on the bias, like a viscose satin or crepe. Silk is beautiful too, but it's slippery to handle if you're new to bias cut.

Lining: None, the dress is unlined.

Fabric needed:

  • 1.3–2 m (1.4–2.2 yd) of 130 cm (51") wide fabric

With narrower fabric, buy a little extra length. Exact amounts per size are in the booklet.

Notions
  • 10 small buttons (mushroom buttons are ideal)
  • 60 cm of fine satin or elastic cord for the button loops, or make your own
  • Stay tape, at least 120 cm
  • Matching thread

No zip needed.
