Fabric requirements

Choose a crisp, non-stretch woven fabric, like cotton poplin or seersucker, so the gathers keep their volume. Avoid very soft or fluid fabrics.

Lining: 65 cm (0.7 yd) of lining for the bodice, the same for every version.

For 140 cm (55") wide fabric:

  • Above-ankle dress: about 2.7 m (3 yd)
  • Mini dress: about 1.6 m (1.75 yd)
  • Corset top: about 60 cm (0.7 yd)

Exact amounts per size are in the booklet.

Notions
  • Dress: 45 cm (18") invisible zip
  • Corset top: 15 cm (6") separable zip
  • 2 m (2.2 yd) of elastic thread, for the shirred back
  • Interfacing tape
  • Matching thread
  • Optional: a pair of foam bra cups
