Fabric requirements

Choose a fabric with some body that holds its shape, like cotton poplin, so the sleeves stay extra puffy. Medium-weight linen works too; avoid soft, fluid fabrics.

Lining: None, it's unlined.

For 140 cm (55") wide fabric:

  • Blouse: about 1.6 m (1.75 yd)
  • Dress: about 2.5 m (2.7 yd)

Exact amounts per size are in the booklet.

Notions
  • Buttons, about 1.1 cm (7/16"): 5 for the blouse, 10 for the dress
  • 1.5 m (60") of 1.5 cm (⅝") single-fold bias tape, or make your own
  • 0.5 m (20") of 1 cm (⅜") elastic
  • Ribbon or cord for the neckline tie, or make it from your fabric
  • Optional: interfacing for the button placket, 0.5 m (20") blouse or 1 m (40") dress
  • Matching thread
