Choose a light to medium-weight, flowy woven fabric, like crepe or satin, so the godets swing as you move. With a stretch fabric like lace or jersey, size down 1–2 sizes.

Lining: Fully lined, in the same fabric or a lightweight lining like cupro.

For 140 cm (55") wide fabric:

• High-low: 2–2.2 m (2.2–2.4 yd) main fabric, plus 1.8 m (2 yd) lining
• Midi: 3 m (3.3 yd) main fabric, plus 1.7 m (1.85 yd) lining
