Fabric requirements

Choose a lightweight, drapey fabric with a fluid feel, like a viscose challis or silk satin. Bias-cut pants need a fabric that falls softly along the body and doesn't bulk up at the seams.

Not sure? Pull your fabric on the diagonal: if it gives softly and ripples as it hangs, it's a match. The booklet shows you how to test it.

Lining: None, the pants are unlined.

Fabric needed:

  • About 2 m (2.2 yd) of 130–140 cm (51–55") wide fabric

Shortening or lengthening the legs changes the amount. Exact amounts per size, for 130 and 150 cm widths, are in the booklet.

Notions
  • 1 m of 1.5 cm (⅝") wide elastic
  • Matching thread

No zip or buttons needed.
